JAGIMUN 2023!

JAGIMUN 2023, a Model United Nations (MUN) conference organized by the students of the International Political Studies Faculty of Jagiellonian University, was held in the beautiful city of Krakow from 5th to 7th May.

The event provided a platform for high school and university students from around Europe to come together and participate in intense but healthy debates in various committees and topics such as the World Health Organisation - Enhancing medical services and aid in conflict zones and high-risk areas, United Nations General Assembly - Addressing the issue and development of international human trafficking, United Nations High Commission for Refugees - Protecting the Rights of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons in Conflict-affected Areas, International Atomic Energy Agency - Establishing guidelines on the use of innovative nuclear technologies, and the United Nations Security Council - Threats to International Peace - Stabilizing Libya.

The event was successfully organized by the Secretary Generals, Marriom Mariaca and Grace Harb, along with the organizing team of JAGIMUN, who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the conference.

The opening ceremony was graced by Maria Pamula, the Assistant Protection Officer of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, who spoke about the MUN Refugee Challenge and the importance of protecting refugees around the world.

The participants showcased their knowledge, public speaking, and diplomatic skills, impressing the judges and their fellow delegates. The best delegate awards, honorary mentions, and outstanding speaker awards were given to those who excelled in their respective committees. The success of the event was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the organizing team and the participants.

Overall, JAGIMUN 2023 was a resounding success, providing a valuable learning experience for all the participants and fostering an environment of healthy debate and collaboration.
