A student-led initiative aimed at using the power of media to spread discourse globally

About us

Welcome to The Global Observer, an online news website run by the talented and passionate students of the Faculty of International and Political Studies at Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Our mission is to provide a fresh and insightful perspective on international news, current events, and the happenings within the esteemed Faculty of International Relations and Politics.

The creation of The Global Observer was rooted in the fact that media plays an important role in our lives, and in parallel, an important role in politics. The Global Observer is an outlet for students and members of Jagiellonian University. We offer more than just current events, but rather, perspectives. From geopolitics to human rights, from diplomacy to environmental issues, our writers are passionate about covering a wide array of topics. We believe in fostering an inclusive environment where every voice is heard, enabling us to offer a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of global events.

We hope that readers can gain knowledge on political events, as well as have a scope into the minds of IRAS and GLAD students. We are eager to build a stronger community. We are eager to be involved in global issues. We are eager to partake in something greater than ourselves.

The Global Observer is not just about reporting news; we also aim to create a sense of community among our readers. We understand that knowledge is best when shared and discussed. Therefore, we encourage engagement and welcome thoughtful discussions in the comments section of our articles. We believe that this exchange of ideas will lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the complex issues that shape our world.

In addition to covering international news, The Global Observer proudly features events happening within the Faculty of International Relations and Politics. We understand the importance of nurturing academic and intellectual growth, and we aim to provide comprehensive coverage of guest lectures, conferences, and other engaging activities. By doing so, we strive to bridge the gap between academia and journalism, offering our readers a unique insight into the world of international affairs.
